SALVINI Widens His 24MX Leader’s Gap in EnduroGP!

This weekend, the stars of the FIM Maxxis Enduro World Championship had to deal with a grueling race for both man and machine on the occasion of this very first Maxxis Grand Prix of Estonia! At the end of the two days of racing, while the top riders all pushed hard, nothing has changed in the rankings except in the 125cc Youth category...
SalvoAlex SALVINI (I - Husqvarna)

In EnduroGP and Enduro 2, Alex SALVINI (I - Husqvarna) took advantage of the mechanical problems of his rival Eero REMES (SF - TM) to snatch the 24MX Leader Plate! Now, "SALVO" is 6 points ahead of Steve HOLCOMBE (GB - Beta), who was also a big beneficiary of REMES’ woes, and the Italian now has 16 points over the Finn in EGP... In E2, it is 26 points that separate the Jolly Enduro Team rider and the Factory TM Racing rider, while Loïc LARRIEU (F - Yamaha) is now only 3 points behind REMES!

In Enduro 1, the weekend was marked by the domination of Brad FREEMAN (GB - Beta) and the setbacks and wrist injury of Jamie MCCANNEY (GB - Yamaha)... Despite this, and the provisional draw in the standings (146pts each), the official Outsiders Yamaha retains the lead of the E1 category, 4 wins for MCCANNEY against 3 for FREEMAN. With his third place, Antoine BASSET (F - Gas Gas) cement his place on the E1 podium.

In Enduro 3, Steve HOLCOMBE left no chance for the Gas Gas boys Christophe NAMBOTIN (F) and Danny MCCANNEY (GB) and the surprise Saturday podium-sitter, Anthony GESLIN (F - Beta). Provisionally, the Brit retains his 24MX Leader Plate, 22 points ahead of NAMBOTIN and 24 on MCCANNEY...

In Junior, after a solid weekend (2/1), Matteo CAVALLO (I - Beta) confirms his ‘title favourite’ status and his 24MX Leader position. He is now 25 points ahead of Andrea VERONA (I - TM), 39 ahead of Davide SORECA (I - TM).

Finally, in the Youth 125cc category, the sensation of the beginning of the season Matthew VAN OEVELEN (B - Sherco) could not resist the fury and speed of the Chilean Ruy BARBOSA (Husqvarna). The Jolly Enduro Team rider has a firm grip on the 24MX Leader Plate, but the excitement doesn’t stop there… as we must watch out for New Zealander Hamish MAC DONALD (Sherco) who achieved his first podium in Tallinn, and seems to get stronger with each passing race.

This first ever Maxxis Grand Prix of Estonia in the history of EnduroGP kept all its promises and provided great entertainment as well as pleasing the vast majority of the riders! The next appointment is in three weeks’ time in Pietramurata, Italy, for the very first race Hard Enduro race on the calendar, and one which the riders dread and look forward to in equal measure: "The Wall"!
