CALENDARIO FIM SUPER ENDURO 2015FONTE: ENDURO-ABC.COMWho’s going to stop Taddy?
Tuesday, 30 December 2014
After a thunderous start to the season at the Ergo Arena in Gdansk (Poland) which saw Taddy BLAZUSIAK (PL - KTM) signing a beautiful Hat Trick, the elite of SuperEnduro takes up residence next Saturday afternoon to the SachsenArena in Riesa (Germany), halfway between Dresden and Leipzig.
For the first time, the Club Motorsportverein Riesa and the production company "Eventmanufactur" Auerswald with the help of the ADAC will host a round of the Maxxis FIM SuperEnduro World Championship in their stronghold of SachsenArena on behalf of the DMSB (German Motorcycle Federation).
First SEWC in Germany!
Eventmanufactur Auerswald and its representative Dan AUERSWALD did not hesitate for a second when choosing the arena. The SachsenArena Riesa was all designated to host the second round of 2015 SEWC season. This venue, with a capacity of 9,000 seats, was opened in 2002 and has already received many concerts, sporting events including many International Handball tournaments...
The city of Riesa is located in the former East Germany, specifically in the region of Saxony. Town of about 34 000 inhabitants, Riesa is the biggest city in the district of Meissen and borders the banks of the Elbe. It is located just 90 kms east of Leipzig and 70 km south-west of Dresden.
With a full rider set, on vitamin and came from four continents (America, Europe, Oceania, Africa) in the three categories, it's in the SachsenArena that the Grand Prix of Germany will excite a very large and enthusiastic audience in love with mechanical sports and just few hours celebrating the New Year!
KNIGHT, WEBB and WALKER hungrier than ever!
After an impressive tripled on December, 6th in front of his audience, Taddy BLAZUSIAK (PL - KTM) will arrive in Germany with the intention to continue to widen the gap. But this year, his rivals are plentiful, and although the five-time World Champion was able to thwart them a month ago, it may be much different next Saturday. Indeed, David KNIGHT (GB - KTM) will land in Riesa with an additional month of training, which he clearly lacked in Poland. It will be the same for Cody WEBB (USA - KTM), who, because of his change of team (Beta to KTM) could test his 300 EXC only four days before taking his bags to Europe... Taddy should also be wary of his young teammate Jonny WALKER (GB - KTM), with the 3 points of the Super Pole powered by Akrapovic he showed his speed but he had bad luck throughout the Polish evening. The native of Keswick has long teeth this season and has every intention to resume! Also unlucky during the opening round, Alfredo GOMEZ (E - HVA) will seek to be back on track just like the US rookie Taylor ROBERT (KTM) in trouble for his discovery of SuperEnduro. It’s the same for Kyle REDMOND (USA - Beta) and Dani GIBERT (E - Gas Gas). For their part, Mario ROMAN (ESP - KTM) and Paul BOLTON (GB - KTM) will try to play the spoilsport again and interfering in the Top 10, while we expect much better from 2013 and 2014 Junior World Champions, Danny MCCANNEY (GB - HVA) and Giacomo REDONDI (I - Beta) who were disappointed in Gdansk. Edward HUBNER (D - KTM), holder of the Wildcard for this round, will have at heart to shine in front of his public. The Spaniards Xavi LEON (E - HVA) and Eloi SALSENCH (E - Gas Gas) will look again to qualify as Marcus KEHR (D - Sherco), eliminated in Gdansk, will be boosted in front of his audience to hang a spot in the finals!
Cody WEBB will look to answer to BLAZUSIAK this Saturday evening in Riesa
Wade YOUNG is coming…
In the category of under 23 years old, the battle looks tough between the current leader Ty TREMAINE (USA - KTM) and his nearest rival Andreas LINUSSON (S - KTM). Despite a frank domination of the American in Gdansk, Andreas LINUSSON has all the weapons to reverse the trend from this Saturday... but they should be pushed around by the South African Wade YOUNG (ZAF - KTM) who has just enter and will compete in the rest of the season and will surely become a serious contender for the podium and maybe for the title. Jack ROWLAND (GB - Sherco) and Manuel LETTENBICHLER (D - KTM) should come to join in the duel for the victory with a big advantage for the German who has an entire arena to his cause as the other local rider Tim APOLLE (D - HVA). We will also have to count with Gethin HUMPHREYS (GB - HVA) and Jesper BORJESSON (S - HVA), back from injury... Jack EDMONDSON (GB - KTM), Oskar KACZMARCZYK (PL - KTM), Owain HUMPHREYS (GB - HVA) or Rob JOHNSON (GB - HVA) will also enliven the debate as Joffrey MARIN (F - Kawasaki) and the second South African Blake GUTZEIT (ZAF - HVA)...
The Women Cup is back!
Finally, in the Women's World Cup, four riders seem to stand out. Indeed, the first champion in the history of Female SuperEnduro, Emma BRISTOW (GB - Sherco) will put his title into play more motivated than ever. Jane DANIELS (GB - HVA), second last year, has already shown, in turn, her intentions during the off-season. But the two Britons have much to deal with Sandra GOMEZ (E - Husqvarna). The sister of Alfredo GOMEZ had the opportunity to show the full extent of her talent in a few rounds of Endurocross where she clinched several podiums. These three racers will be joined by 2014 Endurocross Champion Lexi PECHOUT (CAN - Sherco). The Canadian arrived in Europe with the intention of showing what girls of the North American continent can do. We will also have to keep an eye on the local girl, Maria FRANKE (D - Yamaha) but also on young Polish Natalia SNIADA (KTM) and Ewelina SZKUDLAREK (KTM) and on the Swedish Sanna KARKKAINEN (KTM) and British Saskia BAXTER (KTM), other debutantes of the Women Cup that will be held this year on two rounds only.
After the Grand Prix of Poland that saw Taddy BLAZUSIAK send a clear message to his rivals, the question is therefore will KNIGHT, WEBB and others be capable to answer from this Saturday, January 3rd at SachsenArena in Riesa. See you from 16.00 where the stars of SEWC await you once again for another Taddy chase... under very high voltage! Guaranteed Show!
